Aimé Césaire did not use the term "imperial boomerang" in French, he used the term colonial blow-back. The idea was that in the act of colonizing, the colonizer damages himself too. It was not just that something you put out there will eventually come back but that colonial society is already sick.

If anti-migrant politics are the "consequence of austerity", then where are the black and brown people on those marches? Why do so few from the poorest metropolitan areas attend those marches? Large swathes of urban Britain have been absolutely decimated by austerity. Walk around them. It's visible.
