What we are seeing in Los Angeles right now with #NoKings is after several hours of a massive protest that was 100%, law enforcement—abruptly and without provocation—began firing tear gas, flash bangs and pepper balls at protesters.

It was broadcast live on air. “Unrest” is on them.
Remarkable.

MSNC: "I want to reiterate this has been 100% peaceful."

Seconds later, LA County sheriffs start firing on the crowd.

Yet again, "law enforcement" deliberately escalated.

Yes, US Housing Corporation was federal housing production well *before* New Deal & 1937 Housing Act. But, it was killed by Congress soon after it began, by Red Scare anti-bolshevism panic, with help from real estate industry lobbyists. Opponents claimed it was "too luxurious" etc. Sounds familiar.

The U.S. Secretary of Transportation doesn't believe in....wait for it....transportation.

Studies confirm that riding public transportation makes people happier (social interaction, less stress of driving), healthier (reduces air pollution/congestion, adds walking), and wealthier (reduces costs).
Duffy: "If you're liberal, they want you to take public transportation ... the problem is that it's dirty. You have criminals. It's homeless shelters. It's insane asylums. It's a work ground for the criminal element of the city to prey upon the good people."

Both Rubio's tweet, and the response, are remarkable artifacts. You have a Secretary of State tweeting right wing talking points to defend Neo Nazis, and the country where Nazis originated telling him to sod off.
Rubio publicly criticizing an ally for cracking down on right-wing extremism. And Germany hitting back. We are in a new world

Tomorrow is the 15th anniversary of the BP Disaster. I am going to re-do & edit a thread I wrote on Twitter for the 10th anniversary because it feels even more relevant today as fascism overtakes the country, and the very existence of our government's ability to respond to disasters is under threat.

Hawaii is missing $6 million for widlfire aid. Oregon is waiting on $129 million for disaster prevention.
Trump slammed for ‘covertly’ withholding FEMA funds from blue states
The Trump administration had claimed FEMA was just launching a new manual review process for allocations — a process the states showed is covertly based on Trump's funding freeze.

Calling this "anti-DEI" is so misleading as if it's just going after some office or some narrow program, and the media keep falling for it. This is about destroying the nation's affordable housing infrastructure, in large part because it's the stuff liberals do.
