The UK phased out coal-fired electricity in 2024 after a decade of declining generation. Gas generation is also on the decline. If you want to meet growing electricity demand, it’s now cheaper to do so with renewables than fossil fuels. 🧪🔌💡 www.technologyreview.com/2024/09/30/1...

Yesterday , in #Iceland #highlatitudedust activity in the southern coast, a thin , long but thick dust plume is visible in MODIS image.
In fact there was a good #Landsat overpass , so it is nice to compare the different information provided at different spatial resolutions
