A fascinating piece about life as an in-the-trenches GOP operative in the Trump era and the compromises you have to make. Almost all are now fully bought in. But some remain concerned. This one decided he had enough.

On welfare cuts, Labour's Debbie Abrahams MP at the Liaison Committee tells the PM to his face: "This was poor legislation, designed to save money...by cutting support to disabled people.

"It was so far removed from Labour values of fairness, social justice, and decency...It made me feel ashamed."

I couldn't tell you what a nuthatch looks like. Turns out, neither can AI. The difference is, I know what I don't know. There is no intelligence or awareness in so-called AI. Read just a few of the replies here.

For anyone who is not aware, or unsure of what is happening in the West Bank, I would urge you to watch #notherland
It is truly heartbreaking and I will never understand how people can be so cruel to each other.

Imagine this: On the evening of March 8, you and your spouse unlock the door to your apartment building. As you step inside, two men—not in uniform—push their way in behind you. They tell you your visa has been revoked and that they are there to deport you.

Ordered a new phone and John Lewis sent me by mistake an iPhone16 worth £1200!
I was very good and took it back.

Worried about the future of your local library? USE IT! Every interaction at libraries is counted and recorded - number of books borrowed, computer use, printing, attendance at clubs and events. These figures will directly influence the council's spending priorities. Tell everyone!

Just published, and borrowed from my local library. A nice enough poem and illustrations. But I'd say it's the famous name alone which has guaranteed its publication. No criticism of Mackenzie Crook, but depressing to see this trend in book publishing.

They have the next 6 weeks to decide on the topic of their Bill, before presenting it to the Commons on Wednesday 16 October
