A treat to find this gorgeous clump of primroses on my walk this afternoon. A handy adaptation to prevent self-pollination, both flower forms, thrum & pin-eyed were growing alongside each other. #wildflowerhour

#TheWinter10 for #WildFlowerHour from local roads and St James churchyard, TW12 including my first sweet violet 💜 and primrose 💛 of the year. It feels as though the new year's flowers are finally starting - just before the chilly shock

My first lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria, syn. Ficaria verna) flower of the year. Okay, so the flowers aren't open, but I had to share for #wildflowerhour

As winter takes hold, I found signs of spring on today's walk - Winter Aconite and Snowdrop flowering in a village churchyard and the first Bluebell leaves pushing through the leaf litter at Old Sulehay Forest NR.
