Wild times to be living through
Auchincloss on Fox News Sunday: "This economy is inflationary right now...you know what the GOP response is? Their response is, 'Well, get ready for a rocky ride & by the way, we're gonna give tax cuts to the top 20% of earners & pay for it by taking away healthcare from people who need healthcare'"

Agreed - so many are saying 'just wait two year or four years' - well, the damage will already be done by then....

Indeed. And it's relentless right now. Take good care of yourself - it's vital to surviving the times we are living in.
You're not overwhelmed. You're under attack.

Here’s the money line in the acting AG’s letter firing the prosecutors who worked on the Trump case. Leadership does not trust you in “implementing the president’s agenda.” DOJ supports and defends the Constitution, not the president’s agenda.

It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds.
This is how you say “go fuck yourself sideways with a porcupine” in inspector general speak.

Going to be interesting to see how the administration responds

So all those GOP fuckers who are going around criticizing and lying about the CA wildfires voted AGAINST providing funds for wildfire prevention, including $75,000,000 for the "construction or maintenance of shaded fuel breaks in the Pacific Regions."

They have NO shame.

Not a fan of the Times but happy to see this move from Biden.
President Biden is expected to permanently ban new oil and gas drilling in large sections of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, as well as other federal waters. The move relies on a 70-year-old law that could make it difficult for the Trump administration to reverse it.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man, truly an angel here on Earth. Thank you President Carter for being a shining example of what it is to be a good person.

Holy cow! Who in their right mind thinks ‘disinformation isn’t a problem?!’ The attitude flows naturally from a President and his spokespeople introducing ‘alternative facts’ on national television as a way to justify their lies - but how the heck did academia get caught up in that madness?
Great insights by @KateStarbird.bsky.social about the harms caused by misinformation and why researchers are under attack.
It may seem strange to folks outside of academia, but there has been a line of prominent research within it arguing that misinformation isn't a problem. This paper pushes back, noting how those arguments often rely on poor definitions & operationalizations of what misinformation is & how it works.

Damn...
Remember when it was a massive scandal that Russians donated to Trump by using straw men to buy tickets to his inaugural and $50M went unaccounted for? That’s going to seem quaint compared to the next four years. Especially with immunity. Buckle in.

Agreed
I don't care what TIME says.

TIME got it wrong.

So did America.
