Epic pays for licensing fees for the games they give away for free as promotions. Which means even if YOU aren't paying for it, you're giving money to JK Rowling to harm transgender people AND elevating her stature by giving her franchise higher numbers.

NO TERF WIZARD GAME. NO TERF WIZARD SHOW.
Hogwarts Legacy is free on Epic Games Store. Mystery game is the next title buff.ly/HE94Ti2

Just did my first “let’s save that for January.” It’s December 5. Ugh.

Charlestown, Virginia Dec 2, 1859

I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood. I had, as I now think vainly, flattered myself that without very much bloodshed it might be done.
Abolitionist John Brown was executed by the state of Virginia on December 2, 1859.

steam is apparently allowing "this game had AI in it that it didn't disclose" as a valid return statement, so if you or anyone you know actually paid $70 for slop, get that money back

Usually the TV at work is something I ignore, but Star Wars is on (A New Hope, then Empire) and I always forget how much I love the Original Trilogy.

I feel like if the opposition defined this administration as “a war on ordinary people” and said it as often as they get called communists that would do something.

637 words on the day. Not quite what I wanted, but I wanted to have more planning done and I didn’t do it, so we work with what we have. There’s always tomorrow to make up what ground I’ve lost.

I need more Romance reading friends. I’m working on my Unaffiliated November Writing Challenge book and I *know* my hero is missing something. He doesn’t have quite enough angst. But I’m not sure what to change because his essential decency is also valuable.

Longtime readers know the true villain of American politics is the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929. Repealing this and restructuring Supreme Court are the bare minimums of fixing government in this country. Bare minimums.

(Yes, I want mulit-member districts too. Good luck trying for those.)
It's not just geography... it's the fixed number in the House. Since 1920 every new census has disadvantaged more populous states.

It's a lack of fair apportionment. Which not only means more populous states have fewer representatives, they have fewer electoral votes.
America's political geography means Democrats are naturally disadvantaged under single-member districts even if you draw fair, neutral maps. They are less efficiently distributed, perversely punished because they have *more* voters in both safe red seats and deep blue ones.

I have begun assembling ideas for a thing to write during Unaffiliated November Writing Challenge.

I’ve already killed my female protagonist’s mother after a loveless marriage. Creating people who absolutely do not want to (or think they are worthy of) falling in love is fun.

When you are a new creator, whether in prose, comics, or other media, it can be very tempting to agree to every convention or other event that you're asked to do. Exposure is great, right? And it's wonderful to be wanted.

If we can sell between 5,000 and 10,000 copies of OMENS OF CHAOS, we will debut comfortably on the New York Times Bestseller list, which is a very normal thing for a book to want (and will send a very clear message about what we want as a community). We won't, but a girl can dream.
