I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

Not only is this bonkers in general, but there are no single measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines manufactured in the US. (Or anywhere else I suspect?) Tylenol is safe in pregnancy, MMR is safe, hepB vaccine is safe at birth, no other vaccines need to be spaced out, autism is primarily genetic.
Highly normal. Nothing to see here, folks.

The announcement of health insurance companies that they’ll continue covering routine vaccinations is a huge vote of no confidence in ACIP's recommendations. It reflects a desire by insurers to avoid the cost of illnesses by having their customers vaccinated.

Regardless of the disgraceful nonsense we will likely hear from this administration in the coming days on vaccine “recommendations,” Americas healthcare insurers issued a joint statement tonight saying coverage for Covid and flu shots will remain unchanged from prior years.

Speaks for itself.

RFK Jr. rolled out that old chestnut again about how healthy Americans were in the 60’s, so here’s a fact check.

In 1965:

-42% of American adults smoked; it’s 11% now.

-The infant morality rate was 24.7/1000; it’s 5.6/1000 now.

-Overall life expectancy was 70 years; it's about 77 years now.

This is not how preventative interventions work.

No individual knows that their death was prevented by vaccine. Many people get COVID and dp not die. Was this due to vaccine?

Modeling and statistical estimates are the ways to estimate the impacts.

His desire for "real data" is real bullshit.

If ACIP recs are approved without reviewing evidence, it’s not an advisory panel. It’s a rubber stamp.
