I say this as someone whose entire job is finding the narrow use cases in which AI is actually useful:

All the fear about AI, all the reluctance to adopt it, is entirely legitimate, and a product of the fact that it's been foisted on the public with no consideration of its negative externalities.
I continue to have no sympathy left for whinging about how the public are rude about AI and feel threatened by it when the biggest players in the AI space have spent years very vocally and constantly *threatening the public*

Xmas reminder: If GOP didn’t give 800 billionaires a $2T tax cut (again)—we’d have enough for SNAP & to cancel medical & student debt.

GOP sold out 200M Americans for 800 billionaires.

This is what class war on working people looks like. Stop bootlicking billionaires. Tax them out of existence.

I have been laughing at this for the last hour solid. This person speaks eloquently for us all. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Pantone, take notes.

One of my neighbors has been putting up these fish facts posters. All kinds of different fish, marine, freshwater, deep, shallow, all kinds. This is a good one. “Stg this real fish” took me out. Good work, neighbor.

One of my most conservative-coded opinions is that one of the reasons we're in this mess is because of the profound decadence, solipsism, moral rot, and general lack of personal virtue afflicting much of the upper PMC / bourgeoisie.

I’m recalling how Epstein wrote about Trump:

“i have met some very bad people ,, none as bad as trump. not one decent cell in his body.. so yes - dangerous.”
I spent two years in the Trump administration. During that time, I saw how the president handled national security decisions. One of my biggest takeaways was this:

He fantasized regularly about maiming & killing unarmed civilians. Actually.

A fungus called Cladosporium sphaerospermum thrives at Chernobyl:

“Some scientists think its dark pigment—melanin—may allow it to harness ionizing radiation through a process similar to the way plants harness light for photosynthesis. This proposed mechanism is even referred to as radiosynthesis.”
Chernobyl Fungus Appears to Have Evolved an Incredible Ability
The Chernobyl exclusion zone may be off-limits to humans, but ever since the Unit Four reactor at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded nearly 40 years ago, other forms of life have not only move...

Enjoy your family, be thankful for your personal blessings.

That doesn’t take away the need to acknowledge the misery our Native Populations endured and continue to experience as a result of generational trauma and disenfranchisement,

You can do both. You can do both.
This Thanksgiving—observe the National Day of Mourning.

From 1819 to 1969, US Govt stole tens of thousands of Indigenous kids—forcing them to convert to Christianity & stripping them of their identities. Resistance was met with violence. Sexual abuse was rampant.

I....did not know racists fucking *bombed* Black people during the Tulsa massacre. Holy shit.
The first time terrorists used planes to attack Americans wasn’t on 9/11 or at Pearl Harbor. It was the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 when white supremacists flew a dozen planes to drop turpentine or nitroglycerin bombs on Black Americans.

Viola Fletcher was there.

If there's another pandemic during a Trump presidency, the death toll may well end up being in the tens of millions

You will lose friends and neighbors who didn't have to die but did die purely because some incredibly mediocre, juvenile, largely uneducated dickwads wanted to play at being Big Men
Breaking News: The CDC quietly appointed Dr. Ralph Lee Abraham, who has been critical of vaccines, as its second in command. During the Covid pandemic, he promoted discredited treatments like ivermectin and, as Louisiana’s surgeon general, halted the state’s mass vaccination campaign.

Conversion therapy for these women. Stat.
The women drawn to RFK Jr. see an intoxicating cocktail of romance and danger—whether it's getting attacked by a yak or texting about taking metaphorical bullets for each other.

But to most others, Kennedy is a reckless conspiracy theorist whose appetite for danger will result in a sicker America.
The inexplicable sex appeal of RFK Jr.
How can such ferocious desire be attached to this man? Two memoirs by the women who love him offer some clues.
