There's a lot of panic about social media and the Bad Things it exposes kids to and a lot of laws proposing to let parents control when (or if) their kids can use social media. Friends, your kids are going to use social media no matter what. All you can control is whether they ask you for help.

They're also responsible for one of the best emails I've ever received, when the college office sent out a plea for sightings of Professor Biscuit while conveniently forgetting to mention that he was a cat...(I won't comment on how often a similar email might have gone out about human Professors...)

Sorely misguided and blinded by hubris? Yes.

Foolhardy, yes, but also deeply manipulative, convinced of their own fundamental superiority, and driven by deep (though false) belief.

They’re eugenicists, not imbeciles.
