Related to my other post, I remember when politicians freaked out about people not working during the pandemic because the precious economy is actually the value workers generate. Memory holed now, we're right back to squeezing people out of their jobs and rifling through their pockets for change.

It’s why I found “key worker” such a condescending term. Suddenly those of us on minimum wage working in supermarkets, care homes, warehouses, restaurants, etc were valuable members of society, yet we were still seen as disposable as the powers that be were desperate returning to normalcy

Sometimes I put in an absurdly low bid on an eBay auction with the certainty that I definitely won't get it but also a vanishingly slim hope that MAYBE by some miracle nobody else will bid. Anyway that is how I ended up adding this magnificent glass plate negative to my collection! No date/info.

The first from my mom's archives.
This was taken in 1958 on a WV chicken farm. Minnie's fave treat was scrambled eggs directly from the farm.
Despite the b&w, i'm told she was an orange fluff

I love it when little garbage cats develop the luxury of food snobbery. Yes he was tiny wet ball of fleas found in a ditch but now he's a velvet prince who wants the premium, organic, grain-free chicken in gravy, NOT the premium, organic, grain-free chicken au jus how dare you offer that garbage.
