I see hashtags don't work yet! I remember when Twitter launched it didn't have hashtags, then @chrismessina.me suggested it and bang, user contributed improvements to the platform. Involving the community in developing a product is a good model...

This is a great resource; but also, these accounts aren’t “just” annoying content farms — they’re the foundation on which systemic platform manipulation is built. Eventually, they’re resold and repurposed. There’s no good solution except banning them from the network.

A sad commentary on the state of affairs

I’m using the full weight of my position as Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee to get information from Harlan Crow on his gifts to Justice Thomas, starting with a full accounting of private flights, yacht vacations and other gifts.

Just thinking out loud here — what if we just simply shut off bsky until you guys finish federation and some of the other tools? I know I would miss this community and the connections I've already made, but I really don't wanna see people weaponize this thing, which is the rumor making the rounds.

It’s fascinating that Elon Musk and company absolutely believed all of us would stay on Twitter in perpetuity - and eat an infinite amount of mean-spirited shit - out of desperation.

It honestly feels euphoric to experience a platform without a swarm of hate groups constantly hunting every post. I forgot what it was like 🙂

It’s really cool to see the Bluesky team engaging in thoughtful conversations about moderation, blocking, and other features on this app.
