I lost a liter of blood immediately after having Ayla. Thanks to a very quick intervention from my doctor, it was brought under control and I didn’t need a transfusion. Many people aren’t so lucky. This device is going to save so many people, and I’m so thankful it exists for future mamas.

The sweet retired skate coach I skated with earlier asked me if I played ice hockey at any point because of how well (!!) I skate. Rest assured, it’s all gone to my head and I want to play hockey now.

Also went ice skating this morning at the rec center for the first time this season. Didn’t realize how much I needed that. It was just me and a couple lovely retired ladies, one of which was a retired skating coach. So lovely. Hoping to skate weekly all winter for cross-training. ⛸️

Shoutout to Steel City Plumbers of South Hills for a same/day fix job for a small issue we had. Highly recommend them if you’re in the greater South Hills and need help!

Turns out Ayla didn’t actually need remedial math; she just thinks taking tests on a computer is stupid 😂 found out today that her teacher gives her bigger numbers to work with because she’s bored with what everyone else has to do. She also apparently makes her teacher laugh with jokes. A++++++++

Weather is short-term; climate is long-term. A cold week doesn’t disprove a warming planet. Scientists use decades of data—temperatures, ice loss, ocean heat—to determine climate trends.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.
