True, but qaf has actually attested as a pharyngealized or slightly backed velar in rural Palestinian dialects eg Nazareth and was formerly even more widespread (Bergsträsser, “Sprachatlas von Syrien und Palästina”, 1915)

Why are there no Hallowe’en restaurants that serve Hallowe’en food (candy corn, peeled grapes, poisoned apples, deviled eggs w/ little spiders, ghost ravioli, organ meats and blood sausage, chilled monkey brains, pumpkins full of guacamole & Bloody Mary shooters in syringes) all year round?

Words like nšfšf “to drip” have me halfway convinced that (pre-?)Old Egyptian f was more akin to a p. I hesitate to assign it the value of an affricate p͡f as Allen proposed in his Phonology but *naxápxap (vel. sim.) sounds much drippier than *naxáfxaf to me.
