Parent carer to 3 young adults (how did that happen?). Juggling festival accessibility (Festability), coding, and tools for parent carers. . Bold, sarcastic, and armed with many planners.

PIP is not about income. Its about "overcoming the costs" of a disability. Any study that shows PIP reform will put people into poverty shows that PIP is being misused and that other parts of the benefits system (ie UC) are inadequate. 120 Labour MPs clearly cannot be bothered to read legislation

“If we can afford not to have a wealth tax, not to equalise capital gains, or draw on the excess profits of corporate greed; then we can afford PIP.”

Labour MP Rachael Maskell gave a passionate and emotive speech at the welfare bill debate in commons this afternoon. Watch the clip 🎬

Seriously? What is this government doing? It’s like we’re in a parody and someone is going to shout “surprise, only joking” soon!

Emptying my head onto paper - the good, the bad, the random, the real - is how I stay upright, or at least how I get back up faster when life knocks me down.
Whether it's a to-do, a memory, something the kids said, or just how I'm feeling, it all lands here first.

Parent Carers who work from home - how do you balance your 💩 during holidays. Normally I find a routine and we get by but this Easter break has decided that routines are not on the agenda! #parentcarer

Today, I’m going to work on my novel. A piece of fiction. So I can escape from the craziness of the real world and if anyone acts in a way that offends, I can get rid of them. Perfect!
a man and a woman are standing next to each other on a sidewalk and the woman is saying fiction can be fun .

We can’t believe this needs saying out loud: It would be a good thing if the UK Government ensured that disability benefit reforms didn't inadvertently increase poverty rates among disabled people. Cutting essential support could have devastating effects on their quality of life.

Labour: “We stand for equality.”
Also Labour: “We’re cutting PIP & taking thousands from disabled people.”

If schools still aren’t SEND-ready, why does Labour think employers will be?

Cutting benefits ≠ creating jobs.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t about balancing the books. These benefits are a LIFELINE— keeping disabled people out of poverty, preventing isolation, and ensuring they have the dignity and independence they deserve. Cutting them isn’t "tough but necessary"—it’s CRUEL AND AVOIDABLE.

Important thread 🧵

If you listen to people who know the benefits system intimately, through lived experience, advocacy and research, the upcoming cuts to disability benefits make no practical sense. Cuts will harm people and undermine the exact outcomes govt say they want to achieve
Looking ahead to the disability benefits green paper, this essay for @citizensadvice.bsky.social makes the case for a system focused on improving health outcomes.
