Great session to end my #ACRL2025 conference. The mood was understandably down for a lot of the sessions and roundtables considering everything that's going on around the world impacting academic freedom, higher education and librarie. This presentation was a glimpse of collective power & hope.

Trump’s attempts to take resources away from them are wrong and illegal.

we just lost all 7 of our Network of National Library of Medicine, Region 5 (NNLM) library workers.

the grant that covered their salaries was terminated.

this is heartbreaking and demoralizing.

Let me be clear - EMR’s ability to operate without accountability from the state speaks to a broader conversation about environmental justice, politics in NJ, and how we treat urban/poorer areas of the state.

I once made a comment about how big companies are definitely using sci-hub to train their models and some guy replied very sternly that they would never do this because of how risk averse they all are. Lol.
