Was really struck by what a lovely inspiring exercise this is, like a primary school version of Mary Oliver’s Instructions for living a life
Pay attention.
Be astonished.

OK we've got enough articles about the various crises of men and masculinity. That's a wrap. Hit the showers. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here!

We've been working on cleaning out our attic and I was able to get a bunch of camping gear and winter clothes to my friend who works with our local unhoused community.

So, did anyone else notice the Barry Lyndon vibes (and I think maybe even some of the same interiors?) in the new Frankenstein?

Cue my grandpa saying, "I bought your grandma the first decent piece of furniture her family ever had."
“This thing I inherited from my grandparents is so much better and sturdier than things I buy today.” Yes, because *you inherited it.*. You didn’t inherit all the other stuff because it broke or wore out or was just junk that got thrown out when somebody died.

The smartest thing a politician can do in 2026 is to come up with a bold plan for shoring up and EXPANDING public libraries. Call it Project 2050. It's a way to reintroduce the grammar of commoning and the commons to a new generation in a way they can easily grasp. Such low hanging fruit.

Technically a double spread, but this from A Hundred Dresses:
I'm a big proponent of giving the questions out ahead of time. You get better answers and you can see who didn't read them or do advance preparation.
"I have anxiety, and find the interview process overwhelming to the point of physical sickness. This response is not representative of my actual capabilities at work, but to the specific context of an interview where I have no clear expectations and no familiarity with anyone involved"
“Sharing interview questions ahead of time is extremely helpful for me.”
"I have anxiety, and find the interview process overwhelming to the point of physical sickness. This response is not representative of my actual capabilities at work, but to the specific context of an interview where I have no clear expectations and no familiarity with anyone involved. There's a difference in expectations in the interview vs the workplace, and it's unhelpful to insist that someone who can't answer eloquently off the top of their head is unqualified or unequipped."

My latest is a love letter to Chicago. "I see you stumbling through the stubborn, awkward rhythm of showing up, again and again. I see you fighting alongside people who sometimes frustrate and confuse you, and defending neighbors you may have never met, because you know they’re all your people."
In Chicago, We Run Toward Danger Together
"Faced with unrelenting state violence, Chicagoans have refused to be cowed," says Mariame Kaba.
