When outside groups pressure school boards that lying about state law is the "Christian" thing to do... 🤦‍♂️
Which parents are the ones who get "parental rights?" In Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District (OH), it's those who want to ban books featuring any "sexuality content" or "gender ideology." Inside the school board's educationally-destructive new policy:

Congratulations to Amanda Jones, whose defamation lawsuit is settled on her terms: $1 (admits liability) and a public apology. Poor thing, watch how many takes it took him to spit it out! Brava, Amanda, who has gone on to acclaim, while this guy is, and rightly so, in the pits.
#Freedomofspeech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. Ryan Thames tried to bully a dedicated educator simply because she supported #freadom. What he didn't expect was for her to fight back. #truth #supportlibrarians @librarianjones.com @uabookbans.bsky.social @ncacensorship.bsky.social

Same thing with book bans. It isn't about one book that offends you. It's about the First Amendment. If you remove that one book, you are "woefully naive."
🚨WHOA!!! What a powerful moment.

Bravo! Right at M4L's doorstep, this Florida judge says everything that librarians have said right along: the books aren't "porn."

You’ll notice that republicans had no problem fleeing DC to avoid voting on the Epstein files to protect the convicted felon in the White House but are now threatening Texas Democrats for fleeing the state to stall them from corruptly gerrymandering the state. Evil scumbags.

How does the legislature renege on its agreement (the Fair School Funding Plan), which was instituted because its underfunding violated the Ohio constitution??
The budget passed by the Ohio Senate last week (with bipartisan opposition), was the worst collection of public education policies I have ever seen. It makes me wonder if Statehouse Republicans are simply trying to put Ohio's public schools out of business. We discuss it in this week's ICYMI.

OPPONENT TESTIMONY NEEDED

#Ohio's SAVE Act might be the most dangerous bill I've seen from this legislature

It would stop tens of thousands of eligible Ohioans from voting

It must be stopped.

Reason number 274 as to why generative AI is not ready. (Reason #1 is that bad information can kill people.)
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

Texas and Florida have experienced most of the book bans in the country. Texans pushed back where it counts: the ballot box. MAGA legislators, take note.
Okay, I'll say it: Tonight has been an absolute DRUBBING for Texas book banners. Texas voters stood up and said clearly that they're sick of trustees demonizing teachers. They rejected the absurd policing of libraries & books that has plagued our state for years.
And here’s how my tracker looks right now. That’s a lot of green!
