On Halloween the Ohio GOP forced the adoption of an unconstitutional Congressional map. But this is just the first step to change the rules of voting ahead of the 2026 midterms. Trump is desperate to hang onto power and the GOP is happy to help. An unfair map is just step one.

This was the ending of my introduction of Dr. Amy Acton last night at The Happy Dog. Democrats need to win across Ohio and the nation in 2026 to ensure free and fair elections in 2028. In Ohio that begins with electing Amy Acton Governor.

Tonight I had the privilege of introducing Dr. Amy Acton, Democrat for Governor, at an event at The Happy Dog in Cleveland. If Ohioans would have been voting for Governor two days ago, she would have won.

It has come to the attention of the Euclid Democratic Party that a candidate for local office is distributing a fraudulent Democratic Sample Ballot. This is the genuine list of Democratic endorsements. Please circulate this as you see fit and use it on election day. Thanks for voting.

As of today, the federal hunger assistance program SNAP, has been delayed due to the govt shutdown. As we explain, that doesn't need to happen. The funds exist in both DC and Columbus to keep feeding our hungry neighbors. Since the GOP controls all branches of govt, its up to them to act. Will they?

Wednesday I offered an amendment on the Senate Floor to fully fund SNAP benefits for Ohioans from Ohio's budget surplus fund. The amendment also would have directed the state to seek federal reimbursement after the government reopened so it is possible that it would not have cost the state anything.

There was not a lot of good news last week in DC or Columbus except for three pieces of legislation that would support Ohio's Creative Arts Economy. In this week's ICYMI, I explain the three bills and share how you can help make them law. Get ready to send some emails. Thanks for everyone's support.

The Ohio GOP is pushing a phony anti-poverty program that has been widely debunked by recent research. Senator Smith quotes within. => www.wkyc.com/article/news...
Get a job, get married: Ohio Senate passes 'Success Sequence' bill focused on poverty prevention in schools
Lawmakers are pushing for a new course for middle and high schools centered on finishing high school, getting a full-time job, and married before having children.

This afternoon I had the honor to emcee the #NoKings rally in Cleveland. In this moment, truly all are needed. But it was a privilege that today, in my hometown, I was able to stand shoulder to shoulder with activists, labor, and elected officials to reaffirm that our democracy is worth the fight.

This week the Greater Cleveland United Way came to the Ohio Capitol to make sure the Legislature knew about their ALICE report. In this week's ICYMI, we explain what the ALICE report is, which way the trend lines are going, and what state government should do to help.

This afternoon, me and new pal Morgan got to hang out with two of Cleveland's finest artists at the City Club of Cleveland. Susie Frazier and Derek Hess.

Just a reminder, the $100 million the Haslam Sports Group is paying the City of Cleveland is $130 million LESS than what they are paying Deshaun Watson.

"Since 2022, 30,000 #Ohio children have lost health insurance because of cost concerns, while the state has provided billions to the wealthy in tax cuts and billions to private schools"

This is Ohio with a Republican supermajority. Your kids deserve so much better.

Nichole and I were lucky enough to be able to see the new Alicia Keys Broadway musical Hell's Kitchen and it was fantastic. Best of luck to the Hell's Kitchen cast and crew during their Cleveland stay.

This week we tell the comeback story of Fluffy the Fish and discuss how gerrymandering and government shutdowns don't help solve problems, they probably make things worse.

Ohio Republicans continue to be negligent in their duties to draw a new Congressional map. This week we point out the three ways they failed Ohioans. Hopefully they will change their approach, but if they don't, we will hold them accountable. You should too.

Andy McCarthy: "The indictment almost fails as an indictment in that it doesn't give you notice of what Comey has actually done. But factually there's nothing there. So this smacks of wanting to put Comey through the process, which is what lawfare is."
