I think it's important to take the opportunity to recognize that it is a sign of our privilege that a lot of what we're seeing go down now seems new to us. None of this is new. This kind of stuff has been going on right in front of us the whole time. What's changed is they're dropping the pretense.

It is ok to not doom scroll politics news. Staying informed does not mean surrendering the entirety of your day-to-day life to the relentless advertising farm of online content. Live your life, find distractions if you need to. Practice self care. You're no good to the fight if you're burnt out.
