My biggest issue with this Arsenal team remains not turning good opportunies into good or great chances. Also why Saka will prob never have elite numbers. His shooting technique seems to be a bit slow and in general his decision making lacks a bit of decisiveness.

The guy Sporting bought to replace Viktor Gyokeres has 11 goals in 14 games and is outscoring Gyokeres' first season with Sporting.

My main issue with Lugyös Perez is that I just don't believe that his performances are down to fitness or confidence or anything like that. He's just not a very good footballer and his touch is awful. Giving him time is never going to change that.

I'd love to see the Odegaard-Rice-Eze midfield against Wolves but with the CB injuries I doubt Arteta goes for it like he did vs West Ham

The other huge difference is that Jesus is actually good at football
Last night was evidence of the huge stylistic differences between Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus.

This season, Gyokeres averages around 26 touches per game for #AFC. In his Arsenal career, Jesus averages more than 50 touches per game.

Gabriel Jesus has already had as many touches as Viktor Gyokeres in the match.

Gabriel Jesus is going to get minutes tomorrow and I'm going to allow myself to believe he's about to run it all back to Autumn 2022

I can't believe that Nwaneri isn't starting

Found it hilarious that Elliott on the AVP mentioned Merino as one of our players as 'guys who you can't get the ball of them'. He gets caught all the time on the ball if he doesn't have a first-time pass on.

Havertz might be done, sigh
Injury update from Arteta:

- Saliba and Trossard will be out for a "matter of days" with their injuries

- Havertz is still weeks away, though

Gyokeres and Merino together on the pitch basically means Arsenal are playing with 9.5 players

Badly need to regroup at HT. Odegaard for Martinelli would make the most sense to me.

Caicedo faking an injury because that was a red lol

MLS has had an awful night sadly

Yesterday and Sunderland 2nd half have been the best Arsenal have looked in open play all season. Maybe we can stop with the Gyokeres occupies defenders nonsense now.

People who hate international games just don't Get It. Just look at how much qualifying meant for the Norwegians this week. Odegaard has been part of the group in both of the last two breaks eventhough he's not been able to play. Ireland getting through to the playoffs another great story.

Very disappointed with Arteta's game management. Lack of subs unforgivable.

Merino off at HT please. Get the Kid or Nwaneri on.

Big Reading (a) 2012 vibes here

Early optimism thank fuck. If it was ACL, they'd know that instantly.
September 22, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Gyokeres doesn't get any shots, is late to chances because of standing on his heels and looks technically awful every time he touches the ball but other than that he's been fine
September 22, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Absolutely gutted if Madueke has actually done his ACL

really annoyed I'm not on Twitter because I really do want to go around to the houses of every single person who claimed Merino actually offers a lot in attack and scream at them personally. even Arteta hauled him off at HT! and then Eze got an assist! stinky! terrible! send him back!
September 21, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Nwaneri and Martinelli for Gyokeres and Trossard please

Here’s the thing about Merino. He is not a bad player. Physical. Strong. Smart enough. But here’s the thing, being good at soccer matters. Quality matters. This is not an exercising competition.
