I'm Leo McBride and Altered Instinct is my #fantasy #scifi and #horror blog. Irishman in The Bahamas. Journalist by day. Geek all the time.
Why is it some people interpret "I can't talk right now, I'll call you back" as an invitation to unburden themselves of every moment since childhood?

Considering writing something on duality and a perfect quote popped into my head for it, and I'm presently considering whether the attribution should be "by the noted author and screenwriter JM Straczynski" or "as in the Babylon 5 episode Whatever Happened To Mr Garibaldi?"

Having a weird day with a series of mildly posh crises. I have engaged a beekeeper to attend to a hive that has decided to settle upon Our Grand Estate* and relocate them somewhere more fitting. And my workmates were called out to attend my car battery's decision to stop working.

When someone reaches the age of 90, it's hard to be too sad when they part ways from ours but I did feel my heart skip a few beats when I heard David McCallum had died.

Brilliant over decades, but to me Sapphire and Steel is the most memorable, terrifying me in shivers to this day.

RIP, sir.

One of my favourite people I've found out here in social media land. Do give Christina a follow!
Tiny intro: it's me, Christina, looking for any of my Twitter pals who didn't make the jump to Mastodon. How much I engage will likely depend on how many people I find.

When Bahamian history lands on your desk.

Starting up an office reference library and my desk is filling up already thanks to a donation courtesy of Eric Wiberg, author of Mailboats of The Bahamas and Warplanes in The Bahamas: Lost and Found.

I feel like it's Christmas.

Ah, that magical time when I've cleared room in the day for a meeting but the meeting hasn't happened yet so I can do what I like.

I CAN DO WHAT I LIKE.

As I run free from the office and down the meadow surrounded by butterflies and laughter.

In my 3rd Tempest Blades novel I explore a bit more that side of two of my characters: on is bi, one is pan. They are in love with each other and also with a third person who reciprocates, so part of their plotline, is solving that romantic triable into a throuple:

I have absolutely no idea about this so just putting it out there, but a friend was going through some old books and found about 150 copies of Analog magazine dating from 1950 to 1980 and was wondering if they had any value.

Anyone have any idea if so? (I'll check eBay etc too)

Piggybacking off my own question, my favourite books linked to an IP are probably:

Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Alan Dean Foster
Tears of the Singers by Melinda Snodgrass
Delta Green: Rules of Engagement by John Scott Tynes
XCOM: UFO Defense by Diane Duane

What's on your lists? :)
I just finished an... okay... book that was tied in to a popular TV show. It wasn't great, redeemed at the end by a twist that many readers might have not reached because of so many unlikeable characters on the way.

But I wondered... what's the absolute best book you've read tied in to an IP?

Hi, I'm Lawrence. I write a mix of fantasy and horror, but have been really into Gothic/Jamesian weird recently. This month I have a few shorts in the work and want to gather prompts for my personal October flash-a-day challenge.
Hello! I am Matt, pen name MG Mason and I write mixed genre fiction with a lot of horror. This month I hope to complete the first draft of The Small Bronze Carriage on the Mantelpiece, a short gothic ghost story.
