Is duolingo a metaphor for american democracy. Can someone do a deep dive into the meaning of all this, like they did for kendrick lamar's superbowl performance. 💚

This is a good idea. A daily Democratic press conference with a consistent, skilled spokesperson who covers two things:

1. What DOGE and the Trump administration did to the American people today

2. What Democrats are doing in response
I firmly believe @petebuttigieg.bsky.social should lead a daily press conference. We are in desperate need of simple, unified messaging
Waging a procedural war and an information war will at least delay — and possibly prevent — an actual war. I don't get why Democratic leaders don't see the necessity here.

Women move mountains. Boosting this as i know so many women who would do exactly this. No fanfare, no accolades. Just do the next right thing and scale naturally. @designmom.bsky.social , i think you would love this thread.
Bravo Jen Wang, you are the best of America, of humanity.
Update on my life: Last year, I joined my kids' school's PTA, because they needed a treasurer and I'm good enough with numbers. It was a straightforward, self-contained job: balancing the checkbook for an organization that only did a few fundraisers each year.

If you’ve been wondering what Elon Musk and his lackeys are up to since taking control of the US government, look no further. Our latest story names six 19- to 24-year-olds working with his DOGE organization, which now has access to sensitive federal systems. wrd.cm/4jzpiSN

Went to the air force academy to see newly minted officers get their wings plus an airshow. Refreshments after included samosas and dhoklas. Front row sofas (not seats) due to Uncle being a retired air force air officer. Life in ex-military retired parents India is sweet.

It's 79 degrees and I am wearing a cardigan because it's winter. This means I have fully readjusted back to being home in India

If we in English-speaking societies genuinely cared about restoring play-based childhood opportunities we would reconsider the massive % of overall public space in our cities devoted to cars, and give children themselves the opportunity to redesign those spaces.

I am in India, visiting my parents. I already feel anxiety creeping in about having to return back home to the States. Being half a world away from them is incredibly hard, especially now as they are getting older. Here they are, playing Bridge this morning. They are my heart home.

In the last week, I got replies from 10+ riders saying they've stopped riding on the road because they don't feel safe. This is a disturbing problem. Folks are getting bullied from riding, mostly due to bad infrastructure and driver behavior. A lot of those riders will never return to the road.

Urban spaces that support independent mobility for kids do more than just reduce car trips. They create healthier, happier children, less stressed parents, and a society where communities are connected and resilient.

A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

Instead of forcing kids to rely on their parents for every trip, cities can provide safe, connected mobility for all ages. This fosters early freedom and responsibility, shaping more independent, capable kids than those confined to car dependency.

First time not making a turkey in 20+ years. The kids are adults and everyone (except my brother in law) says they do not really like turkey. So chicken friend chicken (aka schnitzel) it is. Pairs better with all the sides anyway!

If we want better fashion culture in the US, we have to lower the cost of housing and commercial real estate, support independent craftspeople, build denser neighborhoods, improve walkability, and get rid of overly restrictive zoning laws. Let kook culture thrive.

When menswear guys talks about Walkable Neighbourhoods, it is peak social media for me.
"Oh, but this just shows the nerdy, detail-obsessed nature of Japanese people," you say. Perhaps. But these publications can't exist without a distribution system (i.e., newsstands). And those newsstands can't exist without *dense walkable neighborhoods.*
