I am beyond angry. Why put the country through this if you weren’t going to stand your ground anyway? You just handed the GOP the ability to pass anything they want over the next 3 years

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

If we lose SNAP and health insurance anyways then this was all for nothing. Fund SNAP, and renew ACA benefits. Don’t open the government otherwise.

I’ve been furloughed since Oct 1 and will gladly stay that way until those are guaranteed

I cannot express my relief when I see the shift bluewards in so many places. Folks are waking up to how bad things are and voting accordingly. Maybe they’ll remember this come 2028

Donald Trump and MAGA shutdown the government to kick 22M people off their healthcare.

Now they're trying to gaslight Gen Z about who is to blame. But we won't let them.

Can you chip in to support our work to educate and mobilize young voters? 👇

It’s time for Mutual Aid groups. We have to get started.

The last time we had these conversations, we were in the middle of COVID. Communities were struggling to keep going - economically, emotionally, physically.

AOC did a lot of work in this space. I'm sharing resources she created.

Holy shit, they're literally preventing people from becoming citizens by arresting them as they arrive for their hearings. This isn't about bad people. This is about nonwhite people becoming citizens.
This is yet another video of a person who is going in for a PLANNED AND SCHEDULED immigration hearing, being grabbed by plainclothes police or agents, and attacked before they can get to their hearing. We need to find a way to shame the people doing this work.
