“You’re terminated because…?”

Fired federal employees are telling their stories—no deep state, just career public servants tossed aside.

DOGE’s mass firings aren’t about efficiency—they’re gutting expertise, wrecking lives, and calling it “reform.”

If Pam Bondi wants to dismiss the Eric Adams indictment, she can just do it herself. She is the attorney general, she doesn’t need to have a line prosecutor do it for her. But they want to be able to say a career person did it.
DOJ leadership has put all Public Integrity Section lawyers into a room with 1 hour to decide who will dismiss Adams indictment or else all will be fired. Sending them strength to stand by their oath, which is to support the Constitution, not the president’s political agenda. 🇺🇸

Termination notices going out this afternoon to more than 300 employees of the National Cancer Institute. Access likely ends today. Four weeks paid leave and that’s it.

This entire thing is almost comically corrupt
"newfound leverage" from the quid pro quo:

"With a newfound leverage over New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Trump border czar Tom Homan hosted the big-city Democrat on Thursday to discuss ramped-up immigration enforcement in the nation’s largest city."

FACTS: "There are proposals from Republicans to cut $2.3 trillion from Medicaid."

THIS is what it would do: It would destroy Medicaid. It wouldn't fight inflation. It wouldn't bring anybody's prices down. It would just steal people's health care

Do you remember that time Pence tried to see Hamilton and the cast called him out.

Or when McConnell was chased out of a resraurant and not allowed a peaceful meal.

Or when Cruz abandoned Texas during the deep freeze and we shamed him into going home.

That.

Musk’s supporters believe that, through tech wizardry and sheer willpower, he’s slashing the federal deficit in a way that has eluded politicians for years. But this narrative has a glaring flaw: The Economist’s review of official data shows that his efforts have scarcely made a dent in spending.
Elon Musk is failing to cut American spending
DOGE has so far disrupted everything in government bar the deficit

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.

This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

In addition to being brave and the right thing to do, Sassoon’s letter points out that the Emperor has no clothes — it demolishes the utterly fatuous, transparently corrupt excuses for dismissing the Adams case.
READ Danielle Sassoon's letter to AG Pam Bondi, via @nytimes.com:

"Rather than be rewarded, Adams's advocacy should be called out for what it is: an improper offer of immigration enforcement assistance in exchange for a dismissal of his case." static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...
