Paying tribute to John ‘Paddy’ Hemingway DFC, the last pilot from the Battle of Britain, who passed away in Dublin last night, 17 March 2025, aged 105.
Paddy also served at Dunkirk, & during the Normandy campaign, & was shot down 4 times during the war.

Juke joints were essential spaces in a 20th century Black entertainment ecosystem that stretched from coast to coast. Kale's Night Spot in Helena, Ark. was one of them: "That used to be a nightclub, a café or something ... a juke joint, as they were called." #BlackHistoryMonth photo 18/28. 🗃️
