The error in concept of Labour's 'we put the Truss in Welfare' bill.
STOP.

One of the THREE reasons the reasoned amendment exists is because Labour MPs didn’t consult with disabled people.

Don’t “fix” this by making DIFFERENT decisions about us without consulting us.

That’s literally doing the same thing twice.

Dear @teamlabouruk.bsky.social MPs,

We need you to sign the amendment. You cannot, in good conscience, vote for a Green Paper that will affect—quite literally—millions of the most vulnerable people in the country without an Impact Assessment. Work with us. Please sign now.

Thanks,

Everyone

No record confirms Amalek—maybe he didn’t let the journalists in. But Herod left blueprints, graves, and bloodied scrolls. Israel leaves live footage. Evil used to hide—now it streams.

When MPs underpay junior staff, they reveal more than stinginess—they show they haven't grasped the structural inequality in the economy. If you can't model fairness in your own office, you're not qualified to fix it for the country.

Quantification is often ommitted by commentators.

This comment doesn't fail that test.
The UN warns that in the next 48 hours, 14,000 babies in Gaza could die due to Israel’s blockade.

After 11 weeks of blockading aid, Israel cleared nine trucks to enter Gaza yesterday. It takes 500 aid trucks per day to meet people's basic needs.

A voice worth support
Nazi comparisons, implicit accusations of supporting Hamas - outrageous response to me putting the case for boycotts: nonviolent pressure on Israeli govt by refusing to buy Israeli goods, services or cultural exports. Amidst genocidal violence in Gaza this is the least we can do.

Trying to figure out Labour's principles in 2025...

Balancing the books on the back of disabled people and those who care for them is cruel and wrong.

There is no moral case for making benefit cuts the priority for a Labour Government.

And the whole world is letting it happen in Palestine.

Labour:
Tough on disabled.
Tough on the supporters of disabled.
Health and care worker visas are already at record lows leaving care homes at threat of closure.

Yet Labour want to crackdown further on work visa applications, blocking those who arrive in the UK to support people in our communities.

Interesting candidate
Jan Schakowsky, the incumbent in my race, will reportedly not seek re-election. So it seems like a good time to reintroduce myself —

We have over 800 signatures in just 70 hours!

Our coalition — clinicians, researchers, carers, and most importantly, disabled people — will help the public and Parliament see how dangerous these cuts would be.

Every signature adds weight. Thank you so much.

Not all lawyers are bad.

These appear to be very good indeed.

DWP cuts are 'economic violence' against disabled people, as backlash against Labour grows

A leading not-for-profit has said "This is not reform. It is state-sanctioned cruelty. It is economic violence against chronically ill and disabled people".

Amazing—the arrogance of Labour MPs, especially the frontbench, in thinking they understand mental and physical health, behavioural science, risk, and what it would take to rebuild trust in the DWP better than ALL disabled people, health organisations, and researchers combined.
