There is so much bad news on micro and macro levels lately, I will share a little personal win. Here is a sneak peek at a very early dummy of the interior layout for my book "The House Archives Built, and Other Thoughts on Black Archival Possibility," upcoming from @wehere.bsky.social press.

Fobazi’s article about vocational awe was one of the first things I read in my master’s program at UW, and it set the tone for the type of librarian I would become and in turn influence how I mentor the next generation of librarians. Please donate if you’re able. This field owes so much to her.
Fobazi is currently in the ICU and could use your support. Apologies to those I haven’t been able to reach out to yet. You can message me for more info and I will be posting updates to GoFundMe. Please share, send healing thoughts, prayers, etc. ❤️ -Elena

RFK Jr. backs down all the time when he gets push back, so if anyone wants to call, here's the HHS number 1-877-696-6775.
I'd also call your senators/reps as well.

ProPublica spoke to about 150 people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.”

We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words.

Protecting sources is the most important part of my work. So I'll post, in images I created, most of the text from the original internal communication NARA staff received yesterday about visitor requirements, bus services, and parking.

Oh for fuck’s sake. If you ever used 23andMe, uh, I would run not walk to delete your account. And if your parents used it, and they _don’t_ delete their data, whoever gets the data in bankruptcy will still wind up with half of your genome, so maybe talk with mom&dad too

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.
