Arts PR & Producer in Liverpool. Theatre, music and football distract me from politics. Yes, I probably can get you on the guest list. Secret Ninja. Dammit
Not one but TWO press nights @royalcourtliv.bsky.social this week. And a new show to announce tomorrow (which will be very exciting for those who like their Scouse stories with an 80s vibe)

It's Children in Need this week. BBC staff up and down the country are working to raise money, to celebrate causes. Sara Cox is running over about 12 mountains.

But as ever, the focus is on the most toxic, the most disruptive.

This person, crucially, has got to believe in the BBC. This critical friend BS is rotting it from within
The BBC Comms team will be scrambling to hire an agency that says it can lead on crisis comms. What they should do is hire a strategic, corporate PR who can sit alongside publicists for TV programmes. Being able to promote The Traitors is not the same as dealing with a major existential crisis

At a private sector event last week there were a few things that really struck me about investment in Liverpool right now
*Business really wants to be involved in reshaping the city to make it liveable. They’re not that interested in politicians
*A huge number of them moved away and then came back
Liverpool City Region has been growing strongly since the pandemic - with particular strengths in education and science.

Is this momentum on the Mersey a sign of things to come?

A little sojourn across the water to blow away the cobwebs. The warmth mixed with the low light is uncanny

Perhaps this venerable, bonkers, mediocre chicken shop is the greasy, indestructible heart of Liverpool

Well, I’ve just laughed with friends for around six hours and honestly I don’t think you can ask for more than that

"Can I call you Lozza?"
"Not if you expect a response"
I have unfollowed people on social media who have called me Andy. It’s not my name. I am not an Andy. You might as well call me Ronald. Call people by the name they want.

Dear BBC, Knowsley is not in Liverpool. We’ve got enough problems with having to take on Huyton, thank you very much

Is it childish to boo a footballer? Yes Is it childish to sell your club on the power of its fanbase but get angry when the fanbase reacts in a way that doesn’t depict you "on brand"? Yes
Is it childish to encourage a fan response in the media then criticise it when it happens? Again yes

Q4 is called "the golden quarter" for retail and leisure because it’s when the majority of annual earnings are made. Consumer confidence is vital for this. Instead, at the moment high streets need shoppers to feel they can spend this Christmas, the Chancellor is going to tell them it’s too risky

It does feel weird to point out that if you use racism to get attention you are also almost certainly racist

Wild that we spend a lot of time talking about what the history books will record about this political period and it’ll be Andrew. It’ll just be Andrew. The rest will be colour and context.

Not that they will care, but I think the time has finally come to leave o2. They are so expensive, and even with a SIM only deal, they’re aren’t even offering the same deal I have now and the cost doubles in a year. But mostly it’s cos the coverage is absolutely woeful

lol that people think David Harbour is the only one creating a Stranger Things PR shitshow

This is niche as in it's Liverpool, but the best political representation in a Christmas show is Keddy Sutton @royalcourtliv.bsky.social and "The Mayor with no hair" which, my lawyers inform me, was not at all based on Joe Anderson

Brendan Rodgers has always struck me as that kind of nightmare client who thinks he’s a stone cold genius at managing his own image. Which works if you’re being protected by a publicist, but implodes when they get so pissed off they leave you to it

We get no sick pay. I had to manage my work around major surgery this year. I’m lucky I work with brilliant people. But we don’t as much support from the state at any part of our careers than employees do

It’s clear that Labour are not going to do anything useful to oppose racism or fascism in the UK.

They will be arguing about the paperwork needed while millions are deported.
