I would describe BBC's Political Editor Chris Mason as:

A Geography graduate who moved onto lightweight journalism, and then landed the job as BBC political editor by being inoffensive and unchallenging

Which is just what the BBC board required of him, a sort of reverse Jeremy Paxman
Robbie Gibb describes the BBC's Political Editor Chris Mason as the "unsung hero of covering politics" and "absolutely first rate"

Just want to take a moment to shout out the international reporters helping us get the real story out. When an 80-year-old veteran with a walker is hauled off with his hands zip-tied behind his back, and the media spins it as a “threatening breach” of a police barricade

It drives me nuts. The Telegraph, Mail, Sun etc and the politicians they sponsor like Johnson, Farage, Cameron & Truss got everything they wanted for fourteen of the last fifteen years & only now, with Labour in power for *less than one*, do they acknowledge the damage they have done. It’s sick.

An incomplete list of Musk's accomplishments in government:

More should have been made about Farage's absence from Parliament in the week of the summit. After all, the date was well known in advance. And next week is a holiday for the Commons anyway. This is someone who deliberately chose not to be present.

We said all along that Brexit made food and energy bills more expensive.

The evidence was clear – but politicians and the media denied it again and again.

Now the big headline from the Brexit reset is "cheaper food and energy".

So yes, it *is* Brexit that pushed up prices. It always was.

This is how "This side says X, but the other side says Y" balance ends up distorting journalism. Instead of being based on the journalist's own independent, impartial analysis this question really just ventriloquises a partisan opposition stance and gives the impression the BBC fully agrees with it.

The government’s abject surrender in the immigration conversation will not necessarily lose them votes. But it won’t win any either because a) for good
or for ill, the small boats are the really emotive issue & b) people who simply resent immigrants will always favour Farage. He’s one of their own.
