"Don't Engage, Just Block" absolutely IS the Bluesky motto. The notion of a "Bluesky Elder" is vaguely ridiculous but the ONE THING that we oldheads are good for is telling the new folks that blocking without engagement is praxis, and encouraging them to do it early and often.

Just blocked a retail account that spammed itself and its products into an unrelated comment thread of mine, so, retail accounts, let that be a heads up, that sort of activity is not going to work out for you here. "Don't Engage, Just Block" applies to you too, if you do things like that.

NGL, Bluesky servers crashing makes me feel joy. First of all, it means that the momentum here is real! And second, the best years on Twitter were the fail-whale years. Before the complete enshittification. Before Elon. When it was just a fun place to be. So fail away, servers!

I've been mostly facebook for a while now, and no twitter at all, really. Flummoxed on what to say here.
Also: super depressed, grieving my Mom, laid off. [feel like I am SLOOOOOOWLY emerging from the fog, but when I say slow, I mean slow. Two steps forward, one step back. And whatnot]
