Have just realized that the silly “Bezos wants to buy Vogue as a lavish wedding gift for his bride” story that’s been circulating is inaccurate - Bezos wants to buy Condé Nast which owns The New Yorker,Teen Vogue, Wired & Arts Technica because he is an oligarch who wants to crush all dissent.

Here it is: my urbanist NYC voter guide. While Zellnor Myrie and Brad Lander are (by far) the best candidates, you’re going to have to rank either Zohran or Cuomo if you want your vote to count.

I dove deep into this decision and came to the conclusion that Zohran is the superior choice.

This is exactly the right tone when privileged people suffer minor or temporary consequences standing up for powerless people. It’s still about the powerless people.

ICE is Gestapo trash.
"I'm happy to report I'm just fine. I lost a button. But I'm gonna sleep in my bed tonight, safe, with my family... At that elevator, I was separated from someone named Edgardo... Edgardo is in ICE detention and he's not going to sleep in his bed tonight."

A proposed wealth tax on Canada’s richest 0.6% could raise hundreds of billions of dollars — enough to tackle housing, transit, and care.

The sheer scale of what a tiny slice of billionaire wealth could fund is staggering.

Today they have crossed a deep red line.

We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

This is not only an unwarranted escalation of tensions and a threat against American citizens, but it also shows deep disrespect for our soldiers, deploying them in such an inappropriate way.
Trump is a disgusting pig. We’ve got to stop him and his fellow Republican fascists.

I became a climate scientist when I learned that climate change affects us all, but not equally.

Those who've done the least to cause it bear the brunt of the impacts and that's not fair.

We can innovate away carbon; but if we don’t build a better world for everyone, we haven't solved the problem.

This led @oxfamgb.bsky.social to start calculating individual emissions by socioeconomic status.

Accounting for both personal footprint as well as the impact of personal investments in energy & extractive industries, they first found the richest 10% were responsible for half of global emissions.

a) He leads the world's 1.4B Catholics and will have moral sway the way Francis did
b) He will keep annoying climate deniers the way Francis did

MSNBC just said Trump "rode a wave of economic uncertainty into office."
Bullshit. There wasn't any more economic uncertainty than there normally is in a capitalist society. But there was a lot more economic disinformation. And the so-called legitimate media didn't do enough to dispel it
