If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

Here's something people need to wake up to: big tech is no longer capable of building great new products after 15+ years of growth at all costs rot capitalism. These organisations are only capable of building traps and tricks. They don't know or care what users want, just how to monopolise things
It is genuinely impressive to fuck the dog this badly. Threads had all the resources of Meta and both a baked in user base and social graph from their other platforms, with a competitor that was invite-only until just recently. If they’d run it minimally competently, it should have been a blowout.
Despite a massive head start, BlueSky has now overtaken Threads in the US 👇
