We should be able to vote online. We do our taxes online, banking, even getting lab blood test results. Almost everything is done online these days. There's gotta be a way to set up online voting safely and securely.

Most ecological truths can never be proven—not because they’re false, but because life is too tangled, too nonlinear, too ancient and contingent to reduce to clean answers. Often, we don’t even know the right questions to ask.

Water has always been a fundamental force shaping our planet – both in sustaining life across ecosystems and in guiding the organization and survival of human societies. What might change if we had a deeper understanding of global and regional hydrological cycles?

The UCP is fast-tracking plans against the will of the majority of Albertans to allow new coal mining projects in the Eastern Slopes.

We need to act now. Send a direct message to Brian Jean, Energy Minister; it only takes 5 minutes.

URGENT: Send a Direct Message to Alberta's Energy Minister Now
Against the overwhelming will of the people, the Alberta government has quietly lifted the coal moratorium, once again exposing these critical headwaters to exploration and destruction.

A fantastic conversation about centering the economy around biodiversity. Assigning more value to an ecosystem than the sum of its parts.

Thanks, @natehagens.bsky.social for hosting ecologist, Thomas Crowther 🙏🤝

Last week the AER approved Northback's application for new coal exploration on Grassy Mtn.
That approval killed any hope that Northback might have for compensation.
On the w/e premier Smith said Northback wd not be able to operate an open pit mine.
This revives Northback's compensation claims. 1/2

The premier has official contradicted her own energy minister Brian Jean.

Brian claimed that Grassy Mountain was exempt from the open pit ban.

Smith is now saying drilling is to confirm an "underground" mine is viable.

Good:

* Poilievre isn't Prime Minister.
* Poilevre lost his own seat.

Bad:

* Everything has shifted substantially rightward.
* 40% of popular vote and +20 seats for Cons.
* Basically a two-party parliament of centre right and far right.
* Left leaning parties wiped out.
