As the granddaughter of a DDay veteran and a high school teacher currently helping kids learn about the causes of WWII, I am right there with you. This is devastating. We can get through it and it's devastating.

I am friends with a postal worker and oh boy, do they go through it. I send a lot of encouraging messages at this time of year.

I want to add that my dad died when I was 10 and my brother was 8 and my mom (39), was already very financially knowledgeable. And even with that knowledge, it was very difficult for many years in terms of money.

I wish that too and I also think that many people (not just men) are completely delulu about death, to the point where they can't even deal with the statistical reality that in a man/woman marriage, the woman is more likely to outlive the man. Like if they don't think about it, it won't happen!

That is such a revealing move on her part. As in, it reveals how bad she is at her job that she thinks any instruction can magically fix nicotine addiction.
