I genuinely think we should start calling businesses and schools falling to the anti-DEI movement “segregationists” because they are re-segregating. And earlier rounds of segregationists *also* explained their preferred policy in race-neutral terms (“state’s rights” and “freedom of association”).

the loud and clear message is that bad faith "I'm not touching you" style harassment is allowed, which I'm sure will in no way be exploited by the many people extremely well versed in doing exactly that

It’s not that hard to understand. There is no rational, unbigoted way to engage with “the trans debate.” There is no debate. This is other people’s lives and safety. Just as there aren’t any race scientists with valid questions about race, there are no transphobes with valid questions about gender

Co-signed. If you are cis, even if you are really nice, even if you genuinely are an ally, you are going to believe things that are glaringly wrong and not know some crucial things that are true. I have never met even a single cis person to whom this didn't apply.

If you are a cis person, even if you are an expert in some field that affects trans people, and you *think* you know some facts about trans people, I can almost guarantee you believe some things that are insanely wrong.

It blows my mind every day. I think a lot of it also has to do with preconceived notions almost everyone has from all the myths they've heard their entire life about trans people. They think they already know everything, so why listen

Watching Zoe Bees youtube vid about media literacy and I really like the idea that the general idea of media literacy isn't just how we consume media but how we engage with it or create content about it. It just makes sense to me that what we listen to affects how we interact in general.
