There are so many autistic traits that make the world a better place

The massive explosion in use of satellite imagery by archaeologists has led to the discovery of hundreds of thousands of ancient sites and features across the world in the last 25 years, none of which were known about previously due to data resolution+coverage.

This is also a post about autism

Burnout didn’t come out of nowhere.
it came after years of pushing myself ridiculously hard and barely surviving.

It came from never being allowed to say, “this is too much” or “I need help.”

It came from the pressure to keep functioning, no matter the cost.

I didn’t break down—I wore down.

"Stimming – short for “self-stimulatory behaviour” – is a form of self-soothing commonly seen in autistic people. If you see an autistic child or adult stimming, there’s no need to comment or intervene. From @draimeegrant.bsky.social:

Autistic stimming explained – and why stopping it can lead to burnout

April is Autism Acceptance Month, and I just want to say this:
You don’t have to change to be worthy of love. You don’t have to mask, shrink, or shape-shift for anyone.
Your authentic self is something to celebrate.

Not just for April, but always. #autismacceptance #austismawareness

"The traditional, medicalised view of autism leads people to overlook any possible advantages and look in the wrong places for possible solutions to problems. It is no wonder that so many autistic people (and families, and professionals) are sick of it."
