The very first thing I did when I started playing Stellaris was recreating the Mycon from Star Control. With the Infernals DLC: "Finally! The Mycon will get the lore-accurate treatment they deserve!"
But not only can this portrait not get infernal traits, they did not make a fungoid infernal...

This lizard waved at my general direction. I wanted to think he waved at me — but he may have been waving at his reflection instead.

I had an acquaintance ask me how I was able to find all the insect fauna I was photographing years ago. You just have to keep an open eye with a curiosity for the natural world up close around you, and you’ll find all sorts of interesting little critters. 😉
part of the pitch I try to make in outreach is: sure, rainforests are great but you're standing on an equally amazing local ecosystem if you take a couple minutes to look down at the bugs
