🚨Scoop: Nova Scotia MP Chris d'Entremont says he is considering crossing the floor to join the Liberal Party.

He tells me he'll make a decision “in the next few days” after reviewing the federal budget. Other Conservatives are also being courted.
Conservative MP says he’s considering joining Canada’s Liberal government
The stunning twist moves Mark Carney one step closer to a secure hold on the prime minister’s office until 2029.

On Trump's 25% tariffs on Canadian goods until Canada stops exporting fentanyl to the US:

Since Oct 1 2021, 43 lbs. of fentanyl has been seized by CBP at the Canadian border, compared to over 8,070 lbs. from Mexico.

So Canada has to stop an issue that largely doesn't exist, or face economic ruin

Data centres produce a lot of waste heat.

But it's not necessarily "waste" if you can find innovative and smart ways of using it.

On the latest episode of Solving for Climate we speak with Mark Bjornsgaard, who's trying to solve this problem.

Well when you put it like that it doesn’t sound great.
Just to be clear: the incoming Trump administration is going to war against their own Republican senate majority and the constitution's advice and consent provision so they can make a man investigated for ***sex trafficking a minor*** into the most powerful law enforcement officer in the country.

It's great to see so many academics and some journalists moving to Bluesky. I think another key to cementing Twitter/X's irrelevance is to get politicians out of there and over here too.

Anyone doing a #cdnpoli Starter Pack for politicians?

The last thing Twitter really had going for it above alternatives for me was breaking news and commentary on the fly.

But that seems to be shifting, with more journalists,
Experts, and outlets migrating to Bluesky.

Great stuff.

The Ontario Greens have passed a policy resolution in support of nuclear power this weekend! It's a great step forward for us in terms of legitimacy.

The other site is utterly impossible to deal with lately - even before the attack in Israel. Just incredible amounts of toxicity and simple, basic meanness.
