I have Glen Cook's Lies Weeping, with its excellent cover by Raymond Swanland. Should I save it as a treat for when Raven is finished?

Checking briefly. Hey, writing is happening! This holiday from off-farm-job is letting me get real work done at last. (Unfortunately, Chores and Errands have piled up and may be about to swamp me.)

Now I'm really going away to write.
Let there be book.
And to be ready for the conclusion of the duology of this high fantasy, you can buy The Wolf and the Wild King at all the usual places, print and ebook, and especially through your favourite indie. www.kvj.ca/wolf.html

I have some time off from the OFJ and am making a big push to see how close I can get Raven to being finished. 100,000 words and counting, think it's going to hit 130, though possibly not in the next week and a half. Still, doing my best.
See you when I get back from the Forest ...

Thank you to all National Trust members who voted to support the Trust. The hostile venture capitalist backed ‘Restore’ plc have been defeated for another year. But with a lower turnout this year, it’s not over yet. Expect the same next year.

If you want a nice lighthearted movie made with skill and care and attention to detail, I can recommend Shaun the Sheep: Farmaggeddon. We laughed a lot and also had to keep rewinding to look at, "Wait, no, what?" details. Possibly we should just have watched it twice. Also, watch to the very end.

“Normal." “Here, (in Norway) taking care of one another through public programs isn’t radical socialism. It’s Tuesday.”

We often wonder why we never encounter alien species. Perhaps it's because every species fills their orbit with space junk and imprisons themselves on their planets.
What a nightmare! Chinese astronauts can’t come home because space debris hit their return craft.

The rapidly increasing amount of stuff we launch into space is something everyone should be aware of.

Same thoughts for Canada: not useless, but being wrecked.
Your quick reminder that the reason the NHS is in this state is specifically because of what politicians have done. The NHS isn’t useless. The model isn’t defunct. Politicians have actively under-resourced our public healthcare system. It’s a travesty. 🚨

Where is Raven at right now? Well, a battle is imminent and Mairran and Lannesk are on opposite sides. Also opposite sides of a flooded river, which is making the whole thing rather interesting, logistically.

A good time to pick up The Wolf and the Wild King, if you'd like mythic high fantasy with a troubled assassin-prince investigating a sacrificial murder and an outlaw fighting in a war against dragon-worshippers. www.kvj.ca/wolf.html

I've hit that point where suddenly the remainder of the book (sequel to The Wolf and the Wild King) has all come together and it should be a mad downhill run to write it all.
