@theguardian.com, Can we stop calling them "Settlements". It makes them sound like benign explorers.

They are invaders... we should be using military words like "Forward Operating Bases".

if AFP is honest, doing its job, why didn't it act on increasing guns, fact well known?
“I think, unequivocally, the greatest defence this country has had against a mass casualty terrorism attack has been our firearms laws,” says former AFP counterterrorism officer Carrick Ryan. satpa.pe/xDwwrQv
‘It’s unimaginable what we as a community have just experienced’
As the country attempts to make sense of the massacre at Bondi Beach, the principal reactions are a mix of fear, sorrow and anger.

John Menadue: The year in prospect with the US and climate change

“Our dangerous ally is proving even more unreliable and dangerous. Jeffrey Sachs has recently pointed out that US 2025 National Security Strategy “is a doctrine of power over law, coercion over consent, and dominance over diplomacy.”

one pig smells another, good illustration of recruitment policy
As others have pointed out, that is not Pam Bondi in that photo.

Pamela Jo got her job at the DOJ because when she was Florida's AG, she took a $25,000 bribe from Trump to drop her investigation into Trump University for consumer fraud. He knew she was corrupt and would do his bidding at DOJ.

Always a goody - showing the space-take and sealed surfaces. Urban living needs more imaginative use of space. Starting to de-pave to reduce heat island effect, and promote 🌳🌳 canopy cover.
Listened to Brent on the latest urbanist agenda pod and really liked his "it's just geometry" argument about getting cars off of roads. This is a good visualisation of that:
What does it take to move 1000 people? Smart infrastructure supporting choices that don’t take up so much space (or produce so much emissions/pollution, cost so much public money etc).

Mobility in cities is about space.

no evidence, merely playing to genocidal state of Israel.
I protested against genocide then, and I will protest against genocide again. This blaming of the march against genocide, with the anti-semitic terrorist attack in Bondi is appalling, and does a huge disservice to democracy and freedom of speech. It does not make any of us safer.
Linking the march across the bridge to the massacre is disgusting and everyone doing so should be deeply ashamed of their giving tacit support for genocide

Israel sempre foi um apartheid. Agora, só entrou na fase sem vergonha.

O problema é que quando você gosta de passar vergonha, ninguém mais gosta de você...
Israel is potentially bringing back the death penalty… exclusively for Palestinians.

But don’t you DARE call it an apartheid state.

neither have laws been effective so far on genocidal Zionism
I'm home in Perth for the Christmas break and I've had some stomach churning conversations about... everything.

Progressive, empathetic and just voices need to be SO MUCH LOUDER right now.
