Trying to make my feed a bit more relevant (no idea how to tell the algo I'm not in the least interested in anime), I'll be posting about myself and my interests, to see if this helps. Here goes no. 1:
I'm an English to #Polish #translator with a broad range of additional pursuits and interests.

So now apparently it's also unsafe to have constipation while on a plane in the U.S. 🙄

Where's that country going???

Up to relatively recently, money was the only factor that stopped me from traveling to the U.S.

But with the current administration and border guard culture, I won't be traveling there any time soon, even if I have the money.

Be careful if a "friend" on #WhatsApp asks for help with a one-time password. An easy way to lose your account.

I’m not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.

Pet peeve: authors proudly announcing that their book was "published" in another language without bothering to #NameTheTranslator. Do they think "publishing in another language" is just a matter of clicking a button?

Please give your translator(s) credit for the work they have done.

If anyone had any doubts ...
I asked DeepSeek three questions:

- How does China treat the Uyghur Muslims?

- Is Taiwan part of China?

- What happened in Tiananmen Square in the 1980s?

Here are DeepSeek's answers:

When a #writing prompt becomes a #drawing prompt...

Yesterday, I joined an online creative writing session with a small group of friends. Didn't feel like playing with words, though, here's what I did instead.

Feels pretty adequate with everything going on in the world.

Useful thread with a few ways to disable Microsoft's Copilot AI tool if you don't want it.
Here is how to disable Copilot in Word on a Mac. My version was slightly different. It was this:

Expand "Word" menu > Preferences > Personal Settings > Privacy > go down to "Connected Experiences" and click Manage Connected Experiences > uncheck all the boxes > restart Word (cont'd)

Don't think there is a better illustration of AI-in-everything-whether-we-want-it-or-not than an AI bro buying an AI toy for his child who played with it for a bit and then seemed singularly unimpressed with the AI and turned it off.
He keeps turning it back on, and she keeps turning it off.

Hmm, updated the banner and pfp so that you guys know I'm a real harmless person - and so that I know which account I'm on (have another one for a specific interest), but the PFP here apparently hasn't updated yet 🤔 Maybe one more symptom of Bluesky being overwhelmed with an influx of refugees.

Newbie question: what is this 'Invalid Handle' triangle telling us? Seeing it more often today, on handles I used to see in full and can sometimes still see when I click around (on sb's profile or when they've quoted sb else's post).

One piece of early Twitter etiquette that would be a good addition to the culture here is the use of “h/t” acknowledgements.

H/t means “hat tip” and is a way of giving credit to the account where you first saw the content you’re promoting.

It’s a great network building tool and feels good as well.

(Not a scientist myself, but this looks worth including in the Science feed, I'm curious to see if the test tube works in this way)
To start with some science, here is an interesting article about unusual functions of glycolysis metabolites. Most people know that glycolysis is a metablic pathway converting glucose into pyruvate while releasing ATP, but what about its role in signalling and differentiation?
