this clip encapsulates so much of what has been wrong about MSM Trump coverage for the past decade -- treating Trump's lies and bigotry as a valid "side" of a debate instead of calling it out, because calling it out makes it seem as though you're biased

The future of the Democratic Party must be rooted in investing in the American people — not Wall St., corporations, and consultants.

Otherwise, Trumpism will continue to use cynicism, racism, and distrust to divide America.

Why has everyone decided that they should START their political career in Congress?

When I tell people to “run for something,” I mean school board, city council, board of supervisors, town select board, water board, state house/assembly, maybe even mayor.

Can you imagine a woman of color, say a Black reporter, who was caught in an affair with a Presidential candidate THAT SHE WAS COVERING, getting completely rehabilitated less than a year later with a cushy new job and puff piece profile in the paper of record?

Nope.

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

The BBC made Nigel Farage.

Let that be the end of any nonsense that the BBC has a left-wing bias.

He gets it
Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Election times always remind me how so many people (including large accounts with large followings) just don’t understand percentages.

Keep fanning those flames of division…

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

Better the occasional faults of a government that lives in a spirit of charity than the consistent omissions of a government frozen in the ice of its own indifference.

Happy Halloween!

In pre-Christian Ireland, Samhain marked the shift from summer’s light to winter’s dark. But it was also the time when the barrier between this world and the Otherworld was at its thinnest, allowing spirits to pass through to our realm, where they were appeased with food and drink

also, i agree with the idea that this problem is probably downstream of a party that has no particular set of ideals or values with which voters can identify. i have even argued as much! take this post for what it is: something i threw together while eating rice and beans and scrolling on my phone.
the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles
