I just think we need to change the framing on this. I’m not interested in “I’m not a DEI hire.” It should be “YOU’RE WELCOME. Not only am I qualified to be here I have also brought experience, perspective and ideas you didn’t have before.”

The idea that DEI hires are bad is really a wild concept to me. So we shouldn’t try to pick teams that are diverse, equitable and inclusive? Seems like every winning team is made up of people with wildly different skills and strengths. Why would we limit our perspectives when there’s another option?

Good lord, y’all wouldn’t listen about climate change and now here we are smack dab in the middle of the next ice age. I wonder if conservatives would have been more amenable to listening if they’d known their beaches would be snowed in. Anyway I’m freezing today and I do not love it.

I’ve been thinking about about ICE raids and how the new administration rescinded rules that would keep them out of schools. Obviously as a teacher, I’m pretty upset at the idea of my students being traumatized in this way.

Good morning Blue Sky, I want to share my trick for dealing with Sunday Scaries and that is by applying to other jobs. I like to get one or two cranked out before I’m done with breakfast. Nothing makes facing down a week feel better than the idea that maybe I’ll get to blow this popsicle stand soon.

Here’s the thing BlueSky. I think it’s ridiculous to hope 2025 isn’t a dumpster fire. Every year has been a dumpster fire for a long time now. I do wish you a band of fellow miscreants to sit around the blaze with. Maybe someone will bring marshmallows.
