I always thought he was based in the Bay Area. His concept of pronoia (“the universe is conspiring to shower you with blessings”) was big for a younger me. Wikipedia tells me his bands in the 70s/80s were in Santa Barbara so that’s probably an explanation for my impression.

So I stuck a CGM sensor on my arm last night, and will spend two weeks putting my pancreas under a microscope so I will have actual data to properly assess *exactly* how risky and/or bad the effect of the glutinous rice and other stuff actually is on my health. Huzzah.

I wonder if this info could also be distro’d via well-placed urls / QR codes on mailing labels that can easily be stuck on any paper info in bags or boxes 🤔

Day 9: Orange #LyricsPrompt #LyricsPrompt2025

“When Did You Get Back From Mars?” - I Mother Earth

This isn’t the song that IME’s album “Blue Green Orange” is named for, but it is my fave off the album, so it came to mind. (My early aughts #CanCon game continues lol.) m.youtube.com/watch?v=WgmX...

I mean, I think we’re all already older than Danny Tanner and about to catch up with the Golden Girls. At this point my new role model is going to be The Borg Queen.

Canada is a major importer of fruit, vegetables & fish. As more oil & gas is exported expect equal increases in the cost of food as the planet warms. BC could be self sufficient but our governments are allowing development on #ALR Land protected by the Barrett #NDP. #keepitintheground & #savetheALR

I don’t even remember the name of the one across the street from my school. And I’m not even sure I ever went into it. But I know it was the fixation of many a lunch / recess… it was replaced with a modernist house in 2005 so I have no pictures of it :(

Day 13: Summer #LyricsPrompt #LyricsPrompt2025

“Saratoga Summer Song” - Teddy Thompson

Rufus Wainwright adjacent, I’m so predictable lol. But I also love this version to pieces and any #CanCon with the McGarrigle Sisters is always a great share.

I’m like > this < close to setting aside a portion of my assets, labelling it “road safety litigation” and putting in my will how the funds are to be spent, that’s how often I think about it.

There are several such services out there presently, but I’m not able to vouch to their timeliness which may be extra vital today. Here is one - no warranties expressed or implied. nitter.net/vancityclerk

Any celebration of Buffy at this point is about anyone and everyone else involved in the creation of Buffy outside of JW for me - including the understated and silent sacrifices of Kai Cole.

Day 12: Fire #LyricsPrompt #LyricsPrompt2025

“Walk Through The Fire” - from Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical, “Once More With Feeling”

“I touch the fire but it freezes me / I look into it and it's black”

Still captivating after all this time.
