This is ku く, which sounds like the last bit of "cuckoo" and don't ask why that's the example that first comes to my mind

Went to make my fave Greek shrimp recipe, but after the requisite two bags of shrimp thawed one of the bags turned out to be open and ruined. Not enough shrimp to make it- devastated.

2. I hyperfocused on my writing at least twice over the week
3. I am not losing interest in my story as I get into the middle bits, which is awesome because this is usually where I put a story down and never touch it again

The University of Chicago, a world-class institution whose humanities faculty in the past has included Homi Bhabha & Lauren Berlant & Ralph Ellison & Hannah freaking Arendt, is getting rid of basically every graduate department involving the acknowledgment that other cultures & languages exist.

Today's hiragana: か! We've finished the standalone vowels, so the remaining sounds are all consonant and vowel combos. This one is k + a (ah) to make ka. Imagine this bird saying "caw" but without any w at the end.
So "cah." The bird's from Boston. It's lore now.
