I finally made another weird little hiragana!

This is ku く, which sounds like the last bit of "cuckoo" and don't ask why that's the example that first comes to my mind

It turned out a bit bookish and I'm not mad ❤️

The Japanese phonetic character ku has been turned into a weird little lineart guy. It looks like a top down open book with pages facing right, and eyes bugging out on the spine. Part of the spine looks like a mouth and its expression is a bit nervous. The book is colored in a gradient from dark purple to turquoise with a pink line indicating the shape of the original character.

Today's weird little hiragana guy! This is き, pronounced like the word "key." The design is a little rocky or crystalline- did I have the word stone (石 seki/ishi) in mind?

I've been very low energy so I haven't made many recently- will try to catch up.

Today's hiragana: か! We've finished the standalone vowels, so the remaining sounds are all consonant and vowel combos. This one is k + a (ah) to make ka. Imagine this bird saying "caw" but without any w at the end.

So "cah." The bird's from Boston. It's lore now.

Day 5 of drawing hiragana as weird little guys! Don't tell え, but I think this is my favorite so far~

This is お, the last of the standalone vowels! For the pronunciation, pretend you forgot something and then suddenly remember and go "oh!"

Today is う, pronounced like the "oo" in "food." It turned into a little salamander guy despite the fact that I had been thinking something quite different when I started sketching.
