A problem we run into frequently is that refugees face exorbitant hospital fees for childbirth in Malaysia, bringing an extra level of anxiety to a fraught experience. We are currently in contact with a young family with a newborn, whose bill came to RM 6089. They still owe RM 3289 (USD 703).
Our funds are below zero - we used to get donations pretty steadily, but it's less secure nowadays and I think the fragmentation of Twitter has a lot to do with that. Currently seeking to cover food and rent for several vulnerable refugees.
