i think in general a very useful (but rare) thought process to adopt as technical person is the idea that every person who made a technical decision that affects you was fairly competent and also acting in good faith (because they often are).
so it's working now but apparently as a side effect of cloudflare going down the handle on this account stopped working lmao

If you find yourself in need of a more dev oriented ATProto feed, @byarielm.fyi is maintaining one.
I made this one for app + developer/tinkerers only. It’s been nice for when your feed gets overrun w moderation / migration stuff 😅

Considering updates I can do now with graze turbostream too, e.g. don’t include replies if main post is already in the feed.

If you are curious about what atproto is, what a PDS is, or what moving to a new PDS looks like. This may be a good starting place for you. This is my attempt at explaining some of the basics of Bluesky(atproto) in a less technical way.
What the hell is the atmosphere anyway
A slightly less technical intro to the technical side of Bluesky

THIS IS WHAT I'M SAYING
indexer. it’s an indexer.

it can do other stuff too. all software can do other stuff too! but its role in the network is to index the firehose. it’s an indexer.
I think "App View" might be the single worst named thing in the protocol… so many people think this means "the app through which you view" 🫠

Recently there has been a lot of dividing & heated discourse about ActivityPub and AT Protocol.

Yesterday at the Social Web CG meeting, I proposed releasing a statement on this discourse, you can read the full statement here:

it's kind of funny that making an atproto index (i now refuse to call them appviews) is a bit like making a microservice, except all the other microservices are built by completely different organizations.

okay so im trying something, so this is a custom feed that hydrates its own content, without relying on any appview to display it. for every new post that appears in the feed, it tracks its interactions to provide an independent and (best effort) hydrated getFeed and getPostThread apis

I've been paying for Bridgy Fed myself, out of pocket, since the beginning. I'm happy to, and I'll continue to, but it's not cheap. We have big ideas and plans for the future, and funding is our main blocker. Please help if you can!
Today, we're launching $1 & $2 tiers on our Patreon so more of our community can support us!

As a part of that, we also wanted to share where our funding is currently coming from and what community funding can help lead to for the future of Bridgy Fed & Bounce.

Check it out in the post below 👇🏼
New $1-2 Patreon Tiers! And Funding Update
Hey everyone 👋🏼 Following the successful launch of the Bounce Beta last week, we felt this would be a good opportunity to review how A New Social is progressing eight months in. I wanted to provide s...

Q: would atproto people be interested in language that compiles to a lexicon but is less verbose to write, like this:

uh #atproto or something not sure how to put this post into the feeds that people use.
