My job involves working with teenagers, and people need to understand that what makes you a "cool understanding adult" is very different from being like a "cool peer." It is insanely weird for someone in their 30s to want to be the latter!

I truly know nothing about anything but sometimes I feel like - unfortunately - overt oppression is a necessary step towards trans liberation. Eventually our visibility was inevitably going to lead to a backlash, and only loud bigotry will ever truly bring allies to the cause in any substantial way.
